In Bubblegum Crisis Linna is an orphan whose parents were killed in a Boomer rampage after the Kanto earthquake. Linna puts all her effort into her dancing skills and dreams of someday becoming a professional dancer. At her audition, despite giving it her all, she is not selected. After the audition she is approached by Sylia Stingray and is recruited to join the Knight Sabers as the team's close combat specialist.
Throughout Bubblegum Crisis Linna holds down the position of dance and aerobics instructor. In Bubblegum Crash! however her love of money is brought more into focus when she gives up her job as a dance instructor and becomes a stockbrocker.
Linna's character is portrayed as a carefree individual who breezes through life (and boyfriends) and cares only about money. With the exception of Nene, Linna's character [unfortunately] receives very little character background and development.

In Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 Linna's character receives a considerable amount more attention. Linna is portrayed as a sort of girl-nextdoor/country bumpkin from the countryside who has just arrived in Tokyo. Linna takes on an office job working for a Genom subsiderary company where she is forced to tolerate harrasment from her male co-workers and an anoying Boomer who almost seems to have a personal grudge against Linna. Linna traveled to the city partly to escape her family and to try to make it on her own, but mostly so that she might have the chance to see and join the vigilante group she had been following on the internet; the Knight Sabers.
On her way to her first day of work Linna is bowled over by a reckless motorcycle drive whom she gives chase to. The driver is none other than Priss Asagiri, lead singer of As Sakira and the Blue Knight Saber. When Linna is rescued by the Knight Sabers from a rogue boomer she ascertains Priss' identity and then confronts Priss, asking for the chance to become a Knight Saber. Priss leads Linna to the Knight Sabers' headquarters where she meets the other Sabers, Nene Romanova and Sylia Stingray. She is auditioned and dons the armor of the Green Knight Saber.
